At least 10 persons including three private university students were killed and several others injured in several road accidents across the country on Saturday.
In Narsingdi, at least four persons including three students were killed and five others injured in a tragic road crash on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway under Shibpur upazila early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Sadia Akhter, 26, Jannat, 25 and Akib, 27, MBA students of Dhaka’s Millennium University and Ekram Mia, 35, husband of the deceased Sadia. The identity of the injured was not known.
Zakrul, Sergeant of Highway Police Station, told the media that the accident took place when a bus of Shyamoli Paribahan collided head on with a private car carrying the university students in front of Madina Jute Mills around 1:45am, leaving three dead on the spot.
The injured were taken to nearby hospital where another succumbed to injuries, the police official added.
Later, four injured were sent Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In Shariatpur, an youth was killed in a tragic road crash in front of Sadar Hospital of the district on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Kajol sayal,22, was son of one Kasem Sayal of the city.
Aslam Uddin, Officer in Charge of Palong Model Police Station told the news media.
In Rajshahi, a motorcyclist was killed and two others seriously injured in a road crash at Godagari upazila of district on Friday night.
Deceased Mominul Haque, 16, was the son of Muradul Islam, a resident of Kochua village in the upazila.
In Savar, (Dhaka) a motorcyclist named Alamgir Hossain,35, was killed when a passenger bus rammed him in Jirani bazaar area under Ashulia on Saturday.
In Noakhali, a minor girl named Montaha,4, died when an auto riskhawa hit her in companiganj upazila of the district.
In Gopalganj, a teenager boy named Arman Sheikh,11, was killed when a bus rammed him at Kuyadanga Bus Stand of the district on Saturday.
Gopalganj Police Station Officer in-Charge Md Monirul Islam said.
