A court here on Wednesday convicted three people and sentenced them to death for killing freedom fighter Khabir Uddin in Daulatpur upazila in 2012.
The condemned convicts are Abdus Salam, 31, Jamil Mondal, 41 and Abdul Hamid Malitha, 41. According to the prosecution, the convicts called
Khabir out of his house and took him to a field at Golagram in Daulatpur upazila on February 7, 2012. Locals spotted the body of Khabir lying on the field the next morning and informed police. Urjina Begum, wife of the deceased, filed a case with Daulotpur police station.
Later, police arrested the trio in connection with the killing. After examining the records and witnesses, District and Additional Sessions Judge Reza Mohammad Alamgir Hasan handed down the verdict.
