Staff Reporter :RAB Mobile Court recovered three tigers (fishing cats) from a house in the city’s Katabon area on Friday night and arrested one Subid Ali on charge of illegal trading of wild animals. These beasts were brought from Munshiganj for sale at Tk 10,000 each.RAB mobile court, later, sentenced Subid Ali to six months imprisonment and fined him also Tk 50,000. Subid Ali is an employee of a shop at Katabon. The mobile court arrested also one Mohammad Ali from ‘Begumer bari’ and awarded him six months jail for illegal trading of hemp.Executive Magistrate AHM Anowar Pasha said, this species of tiger has almost disappeared. This kind of tiger is found in a very small number in Sylhet only. Forest Department officials said, the recovered tigers would be released at the Bangabandhu Safari Park in Gazipur after one year.
