Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of the ruling Awami League on Thursday held three students of Rajshahi University and handed them over to police, suspecting that the three were involved with the alleged ISIS activities.
The detained students are Jubayer Hossain of Marketing Department, Maksudul Hauqe of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department and Al Towfiq of Geography and Environmental Studies Department of the university. They all are first year students of the university.
Campus and BCL sources said, BCL leaders and activists held Jubayer at Tukitaki Chattar of the university at around 2pm and started interrogating. At a stage of interrogation, Jubayer admitted in front of the journalists that he liked the posts shared by the militant group ISIS as those posts were related to the Quran, Hadith and Jihad.
“I share and read their (ISIS) posts in facebook and also discussed with various islamic persons about the issues, whether their activities are right or not”, he said.
