Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested three professional snatchers from city’s Oxygen area early yesterday.
The arrested were identified as Azam Khan, 23, Nazim, 21 and Morshed Alam, 21 all haiing from Hathazari upazila of the district.
On secret information, a team of police arrested the snatchers from Oxygen area under city’s Byezid thana around 2-45am while they were fleeing after snatching a mobile phone, a camera and cash money from an officer of Uniliver Bangladesh.
Sources said the snatchers took away valuables from Uniliver officer Jahirul Islam who was going to Kalurghat area in a rickshaw after getting down from a bus.
After committing the snatching at Number-2 Gate, the snatchers were fleeing in a motorbike when police arrested them from Oxygen area, said Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bayezid police station.
The arrested were professional snatchers, the OC said adding that the victim filed a case in this connection.
