Scuffle during football match: 3 siblings hacked to death in Noakhali

In a tragic incident, three brothers were hacked to death by the miscreants at Kazinagar village of Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali district on Sunday over previous enmity.
The victims were identified as Harun, 38, Kamal, 34, and Bablu, 23, sons of Maksud Ullah of the village.
Locals said a gnag of miscreants led by some Goalm Maola, Saddam, Amir and Anowar, all hailing from the same village, beat and hacked the trio indiscriminately with sharp weapons while they were playing football in a local play ground.
Harun and Bablu died on the spot while critically injured Kamal was rushed to Noakhali General Hospital where doctors declared him dead said.
Quoting Superintendent of Police Ilias Sharif, our Noakhali Correspondent said the three brothers were killed in a brawl during a football match at Nateswar Union in the Sonaimurhi Upazila.The local residents handed over one Fatema Begum to police for allegedly supplying sharp weapons used in the assault.
According to locals, the brothers had taken part in the friendly football match. One of the brothers, Bablu, had a heated argument with opposition player Rafique after scoring a goal.
Kamal and Harun rushed to intervene when Rafique’s teammates attacked Bablu. Several others joined Rafique in the assault.
Younger brother of the victims, Morshed Alam claimed that about 10/12 locals and outsiders had taken part in the deadly assault. He also named some of the attackers – Rafique, Saddam, Anowar, Golam Maula, Belal, Touhid and Azim.
“The attackers, all hailing from the same village, beat and hacked my brothers indiscriminately with sharp weapons while they were playing football in a local play ground, leaving Harun and Bablu and Kamal dead,” Morshed Alam said.
Identifying the killers, he said, “My brothers were locked in an altercation with Golam Maula. At one stage of quarrel, a group of 10-12 criminals, led by Golam Maula, beat my brothers up and hacked, leaving them dead on the spot.”
Meanwhile, the police said of the attackers seven were identified as Saddam, Anwar, Azim, Tawhid, Razu, Sharif and Rafiqul. They left the spot immediately after the incident.
 “Being informed, police recovered the bodies from the spot. Drive is underway to capture the killers,” Kazi Haniful Islam Bhuiyan, Officer-in Charge of Sonaimuri Police Station, said.
Nurul Amin Swapan, Chairman of Nateswar Union Parishad, claimed that the killers were allegedly involved in drug peddling and many other illegal activities in the area and locals were frustrated with their activities.
