A gang of unidentified miscreants snatched Tk 30 lakh from three persons after opening fire on them at Kallyanpur in the capital on Tuesday. The victims have been identified as Shamsur Rahman, Akhter and Jahangir Alam.The incident took place just in front of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) at around 2:00pm, police said. Shamsur Rahman, Akhter and Jahangir Alam were attacked by miscreants on the Darus Salam Road after they had come out of a bank from Kallyanpur with Tk 30 lakh, police added.Mirpur police Inspector (Investigation) Md Moinul Islam said that they were going to a real estate company about purchasing a flat. When they reached near the BRTC depot, the miscreants attacked them.Jahangir and the two others were going by car to the office of the Multiplan Limited, a real estate firm, to buy a flat. Shamshur and Akhter are employees of the real estate company, he added. “Five people, on two motorbikes, intercepted the car near the BRTC depot, opened fire, and fled after snatching the bag containing the money,” the police official further said.Three of them were injured in the firing, Mirpur police Sub-Inspector Asif Iqbal said. Jahangir was admitted to the Labaid Hospital while the other two were sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
