Three separate incidents of fire were reported from three parts of the city-Mirpur, Uttara and Gendaria on Monday noon. The incidents took place at the same time. However, there was no report of casualty in the incidents. At Mirpur, a fire broke out in the Jhut Potti area of Milk Vita slum at Section-10. At least 40 shanties were damaged in the incident. According to sources of the Fire Service, the fire originated from a stove of the slum and it soon raged through the area. On information, eight firefighting units from different fire stations of the city, including Mirpur Fire Station, rushed to the spot and doused the flame within a hour. At Uttara, a fire caught the warehouse of RAK Paints (Pvt.) Ltd, a paint producer of Sector-3 on the Jasimuddin Road in the area.The Fire Service sources said that the fire broke out first at the warehouse. On information, four fire fighting units from Baridhara and Tongi Fire stations rushed to the spot and doused it. At Gendaria, the incident of fire took place in a slum of Doyaganj. On information, three units of Fire Service rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire. Shahjadi Sultana, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the fire fighters rushed to spots immediately after receiving the news and doused the flames. She, however, said that no casualty was reported in the incidents.
