Emergency landing of PM's flight: 3 probe bodies formed

The authorities on Monday formed three separate committees to investigate into the emergency landing of VVIP Flight BG 1101 carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Hungary.
The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and Biman Bangladesh Airlines separately formed the committees, officials said.
Shapan Kumar Sarkar, Additional Secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, will lead the probe body formed by the Ministry, said Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon at a press conference in the Secretariat in Dhaka.
Capt Fariduzzaman will lead the three-member investigation committee formed by the CAAB while Capt Fazal Mahmud, will lead the Biman’s four-member probe body.
 “The committees have been asked to submit their report by December 1,” Shakil Meraj, General Manager of Biman told The New Nation on Monday.
The probe body formed by CAAB has been asked to submit its report within seven working days.
The aircraft of Bangladesh Biman, Boeing 777-300 ER carrying Prime Minister with a high-level delegation, had to land in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat due to some mid-air technical complications.
After completing repair work, the Prime Minister’s flight finally took off for Hungarian capital Budapest around 6:37pm from Ashgabat after a delay of more than four hours and landed in Budapest around 11:05pm Bangladesh time on Sunday.
The aircraft ‘Ranga Probhat’ took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 9:14am on Sunday.
Sheikh Hasina left for Budapest on a four-day bilateral visit in conjunction with Budapest Water Summit 2016.
The aircraft reached Dhaka around 2:00pm on Monday.
