A mobile court in the port city has fined three pharmacies with Tk 50,000 for selling expired and illegal drugs.A mobile court on Wednesday conducted the drive in Kotwali area in the city and realised the fine.Assisted by the Department of Drug Administration,the drive was led by the district executive magistrate Ali Hasan.
Assistant Director of the Department of Drug Administration Hossain. Imran told the media that raids were carried out at various pharmacies in KC dey Road area of Kotwali police station. Expired, illegal drugs were traced at three pharmacies during the drive.
He said the mobile court had fined Ma Moni Pharmacy Tk 20,000, Swadesh Medico Tk 10,000 and Modern Herbal Tk 20,000. In addition, illegal, expired drugs worth about Tk 50,000 were seized. Magistrate Md. Ali Hasan told the media that “3 drug dealers have been fined for possessing and selling banned and expired drugs under Section 26 of the Drugs Act-1940.
