Two mobile courts on Wednesday fined three pharmacies and a bakery a total of Tk 95,000 in Chittagong city for selling physician samples, contaminated and illegal medicines, and preparing bakery products in unhygienic environment.
Executive Magistrates of Chittagong District Administration Tania Moon and Habibur Rahman led the mobile courts in Alangkar Mor’s BS Plaza and in Chawkbazar area.
Two of the pharmacies are Soudia Pharmacy and Janata Pharmacy. The bakery, Iqbal Sweetmeat and Bakery, was also directed to cease food production until it gets licenses of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) and fire safety.
