Three members of a family received bullet injuries when a man fired at in an attack by their rivals in the city’s Khilkhet area early Saturday.
The injured are: Soudh Miah, 50, his wife Fatema Begum, 40, and son Abdul Alim, 25. They are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), police said.
SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commissioner (Gulshan Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said, “Soudh Miah’s cousin Dholu Miah and Hamidur Rahman exchanged hot words around 7:00am. Hearing hue and cry, Soudh Miah and his wife rushed to the spot. Then Hamidur fired indiscriminately, leaving three persons injured.”
Police detained Hamidur on the charge of shooting, the police official said.
“We are investigating the incident,” the DC said.
A case has been filed against Hamidur, he said.
