Three members of a family were killed and two other people injured as a bus collided with a microbus on Dhaka-Mawa Highway in Sreenagar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were Azhar Hossain Mridha, 65, a businessman, his wife Jahanara Begum, 50, and his sister Maksuda Begum, 60, of Bansamanta village in Louhajang upazila of the district, while the injured were housemaid Mariam, 40, and microbus driver Korban, 40.

M Shamsuzzaman said the Mawa-bound bus of ‘Sawdhin Paribahan’ from Dhaka collided with the microbus at Kewotkhali at around 12pm, leaving Azhar dead on the spot and four other microbus passengers injured.
The injured were taken to Shologhar Health Complex where doctors declared Jahanara and Maksuda dead.
Two other injured- Mariam and Korban- were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition.
