The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday sent three officials of the National University to the jail in a graft case lodged by the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC).
Magistrate Amirul Haider Chowdhury of the CMM Court passed the order. Earlier, the ACC Assistant Director Fazlul Bari produced the three officials to the court with a petition to send them to the jail.
A team of ACC, led by its Deputy Director Morshed Alam, detained NU Proctor and Deputy Registrar HM Touhid Zaman, Assistant Registrar Md Siddiqur Rahman and
Assistant Director Md Mofazzal Hossain from the city’s Mirpur area early in the morning in a graft case.
The case statement says that, the accused persons in collusion with one another provided Selection Grade to a number of NU officials violating government rules, which caused a loss of Tk 10.4 billion to the national exchequer. ACC Assistant Director Fazlul Bari has been investigating the case.
