Three of the five workers who suffered burn injuries after an air conditioner exploded at a dyeing factory in Fatullah BSCIC Industrial Area of Sadar upazila have died.
The deceased were identified as Majedul, Shahidul, 35, and Shawkat Hossain Rumi, 30.
Of them, two succumbed to their injuries at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Monday night while the rest on Tuesday morning.
The two other victims-Babul, 40, Mominul, 32 – were undergoing treatment at the DMCH burn unit where their condition was stated to be critical.
A group of workers were repairing the AC on the 3rd floor of ‘SM Dyeing and Knitting Factory’ on December 30. Suddenly, the AC went off with a big bang and the floor caught fire, leaving the five workers injured.
The injured were rushed to the DMCH burn unit.
