Police recovered the body of three newborns from Dustbin and Drain of separate places in Mymensingh city and Kurugram on Sunday.
Two bodies were recovered from the drain of Baghmara and Bhatikashar Dustbin of the city. After the abortion in two clinics in the local area, who left the newborn in the drain and dustbin.
Locals found the body of a newborn and told the police. Later, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy, said Sub-inspector (SI) Mahbub-or-Rashid of Kotwali Police Station.
One of them was male, while the other’s gender could not be known as the lower part was severed by street dogs, said the SI. Locals said that illegal miscarriage of trade in private clinics located in the city’s Bhatikashara, Baghmara and Charpara areas became a buzzword.
As a result, the body of a newborn baby is found every year in the drain or in the dove. Local residents demanded to increase the surveillance in these clinics. Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Mahmudul Islam confirmed the matter.
UNB from Kurigram adds: In Kurigram, locals found the body of a newborn wrapped in a piece of cloth at a dustbin behind the local land office of Chilmari upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Chilmari Model Police Station Krishna Kumar Sarkar said they recovered the body and sent it to Kurigram General Hospital for autopsy.
