Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed arrest of three operatives of “Neo-JMB’s Sarwar-Tamim group” in two upazilas of Narayanganj on Monday night.
The arrested men have been identified as Abdur Rahman alias Sufian alias Rubel, 27, Imam Hossain alias Rashed alias Abu Umama Al-Bahiri, 26, and Rayhan Ahmed alias Nasir, 30, said our local correspondent quoting Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-11.
“A team of RAB-11 arrested them from Rupganj and Bandar upazilas early in the morning when the militants were trying to organize a mass scale terrorist attack, the RAB official said.
Abdur Rahman and Imam Hossain stand accused in two cases each filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, he added.
A foreign-made pistol, some sharp weapons and books inciting religious hatred were seized from under their possession, the CO said.
