A team of RAB-13 has arrested three people, including the main accused in the incident, for abducting sister-in -law and killing her after marriage. This information was given in a press release signed by RAB Assistant Director Flight Lieutenant (Media) Mahmud Bashir Ahmed to the journalists in Rangpur on Sunday morning.
According to the press release, Shahid Shah of the same area got married to the eldest daughter of Sirajul Islam, a school teacher in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari district. After that Shahid Shah’s gaze fell on his sister-in-law. This caused a quarrel between the husband and wife. At one point, she broke up with her husband in July last year. He later filed a case with Kishoreganj Police Station for divource and alimony. He said the main accused in the case Nashhid Shah, Helal Mia and Karim Mia were arrested from Safipur Laskarchala area of Kalikair upazila in Gazipur on Friday night.
Later, Shahid Shah got angry and abducted his sister-in-law. After, Sirajul Islam filed a case with Kishoreganj Police Station, the police conducted a raid and rescued the abductees and arrested Shahid Shah. After being released on bail after spending 3 months in jail, Shahid Shah kidnapped his sister-in law again on October 14 last year and covered her body. After that she married him and hid herself.
After that the second wife (sister-in-law) became pregnant. He died on January 14 this year after being kicked in the abdomen at one stage of torture. The victim’s father filed a case with Kishoreganj Police Station on January 20. Case No. 11.
Later, RAB conducted a raid and arrested Nashhid Shah, Helal Mia and Karim Mia, the main accused in the case from Safipur Laskarchala area of Kalikair upazila in Gazipur on Friday night. According to RAB, the arrested persons confessed to being involved in the incident.
