A covered van hits a motorcycle on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at Banubazar of Sitakunda Upazila, leaving all three of its riders dead.Two of them have been identified as ‘Rakib’ and ‘Nayan’. The identity of the other deceased was not immediately available.
Saleh Ahmed Pathan, the OC of Baroawlia Highway Police outpost, told media that a Dhaka-bound covered van hit the bikers head-on leaving two dead on the spot at 10.30pm on Wednesday Police went to the spot on information and took another injured to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he added.
CMCH police outpost Nayek ‘Mohidul’ told that locals brought a seriously injured youth to CMCH but doctors declared him dead. OC Md. Saleh said traffic on the highway was disrupted for half an hour after the accident Police detained the covered van, he said and added they were trying to get details about the victims. Driver and the assistant escaped quickly from the spot after occurring the incident, source said. Body of the deads sent to morgue for autopsy.
