3 more people test positive for coronavirus: IEDCR

Staff Reporter: Three more people have infected with coronavirus in the Bangladesh.
Including the new cases, total infected are risen to 27 in the country, said Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
Among the new three patients two people came from abroad while another has infected the disease after coming in contact with another patient, Dr. Sabrina said in a press briefing at Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in Dhaka.
She said that among them, one is female and two of them are male. They are aged between 20, 30 and 40, she added.
According to Dr. Sabrina, of the 27 cases of coronavirus infected people, five were released after getting recovery, two died and 20 others are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
The first coronavirus case was confirmed in the country on March 8 and the first death on March 18. The second person died from coronavirus yesterday.
Dr. Sabrina advised the older aged people not to go out of home.
She asked all returnee expatriate to stay home quarantine to contain the spread of the virus.
Md. Asadul Islam, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of the Directorate General of the Health Services, among others were present in the briefing.
Replying to queries, Dr. Sabrina said they have collected sample of one UK returnee older aged woman who died in a Sylhet Hospital isolation center on early Sunday.
She also said that they have not ignore any person who requested to test their suspecting coronavirus infections.
