The treatment of Covid-19 patients is going on in full swing in 12 designated hospitals in the capital.
However, as the number of patients is on the rise, authorities are increasing the number of such hospitals.
Three more hospitals will be made ready for coronavirus treatment within several days, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).As of Friday, around 1,600 patients were at the 12 hospitals in the capital. Hospital authorities said they were increasing the number of beds alongside ensuring services to patients.
Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin said they were currently working with the burn unit and will turn the medicine unit to a corona unit soon.
The DGHS said Covid-19 treatment will be provided at the Holy Family Hospital too.
Later, 2000-bed hospital at International Convention City Bashundhara and 1500-bed hospital at DNC Market will be opened.
DGHS Director (Hospital) Amirul Hasan said they were going to introduce more hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
The 500-bed Holy Family Hospital will come into operation within a couple of days, he said.
