3 more held over Uttara schoolboy killing

Police in a drive arrested three more suspect youths from Tongi area in Gazipur district on Wednesday night in connection with the sensational murder case of Uttara’s Trust School and College student Adnan Kabir.
The detained youths have been identified as Rajin Mohammad Hridoy, 20, Shakil Sarkar, 19, and Fakhrul Islam Srabon, 18, police said.

(Uttara Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said that police detained them from Gazipur around 11:00pm on Wednesday.
The detained youths were being interrogated in this connection, the DC said.
Nearly 90 per cent of the investigation is complete, though the prime accused Naimur Rahman Anik is still on the run, the police official said.
Earlier on February 8, eight more members of two gangs, who were allegedly involved in the killing of ninth grader Adnan Kabir, were arrested in separate drives at Uttara in the city.
The arrestees are Shahrier Bin Sattar Shetu alias Rayha Ahmed Shetu alias Disco Shetu (22), Md Akteruzzaman Choton (19), Md Shahinur Rahman (17), Ramjan Mobarok (17), Salim Khan (23), Ibrahim Hossain alias Sunny (28), Mizanur Rahman Sumon (22) and Jahidul Islam Juies (21).
On January 6, the local teenager’s gang Disco Boys attacked the members of Nine Star at Sector 13 in Uttara. Nine Star-member Adnan was tortured during the incident. He later died when taken to a hospital in Uttara.
Adnan’s father Kabir Hossain filed a murder case with Uttara West Police Station. Police also arrested several people earlier in connection with the murder.
