Kinara Rahman Shin, a three-month-old girl, was playing with a doll on the cot in her house. He was laughing, amusing and forgot her mother’s absence. The mother was busy in the kitchen adjacent to the room. At that time in the evening, a person entered her room, took her and fled the scene.
Md Sumon, the abductor, claimed Tk two lakh as ransom. He threatened to kill her if his demand is not met.
Md Shakhawat Hossain, father of Shin, rushed to the RAB office to ask the officials to come to the rescue of her little daughter. Finally, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) succeeded and rescued the girl on Thursday from Dakkhin Keraniganj just a day after abduction.
RAB also detained Md Sumon, 31, son of Md Julhash of Madaripur, in this connection.
The team of RAB-10 was led by Additional Police Superintendent Muhammad Mohiuddin Faruki.
The abduction occurred at Jinjira under Keraniganj Police Station on Wednesday evening. The abductor is a technician by profession.
The battalion produced Sumon before media on Friday at a press briefing held at the RAB media centre at Karwan Bazar in Dhaka and returned the baby girl to her parents formally.
Md Shakhawat Hossain said they felt like mad after losing their daughter. “We had no ability to meet the abductor’s demand. We’re very grateful to the RAB officials for rescuing our beloved daughter. We’re very happy that they could return Shin to our lap.”
