At least three persons became missing after speedy erosion of Kirtankhola River suddenly eroded away four houses at Lamchaari area under Charbaria union of Barisal city on Sunday early hours.
The missing persons were identified as Golam Mustafa Shikdar, 60, son of Makbul Shikdar, Hossain Haoladar, 44, son of Bachchu Haoladar, Giasuddin alias Selim Sardar, 40, son of Jamal Sardar from Lamchhari area.
Abdul Hye, brother of Mustafa, Shilpi Begum, wife of Giasuddin and Md. Alauddin, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Barisal confirmed the missing report.
More 11 residents also fell in to river during eroding away the houses of Sardar Bari, Haoladar Bari and Shikdar Bari , but rescued alive by local people at night. Fire Service men searching to recover the missing reported persons, the station officer told.
