Two minor children were drowned in Pagla River at Kansat Milik village in Shibganj upazila of the district yesterday morning.
The victims were identified as Anik, 3, son of Nazimuddin and Real, 3, son of Sohel Rana of the same village.
Locals said the children fell into the river at around 8:30 am while they playing on the bank.
Seeing the floating bodies of the children, the local people retrieved both the bodies from the river.
Officer-in-charge of Shibganj thana Moinul Islam confirmed the incident.
Sylhet Correspondent adds: A child drowned in a pond at Syedpur village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Roni, 3, son of Bobi Hossain, a resident of the village.
Family sources said Roni slipped into the pond while he was playing beside around 2pm.
After being rescued by the local people, he died on his way to local hospital.
Shakhawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sunamganj police station, confirmed the incident.
Minor boy dies when a TV fell on him in Satkhira

A minor boy died when a TV fell on him in Polashpol area of the district town on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Tanzim Hossain, 3, son of Nurul Islam, a judicial magistrate of Satkhira court.
Family members said, the TV fell on the body as he pulled the cable of the TV around 7pm, leaving him injured in the head.
Later, he was rushed to Satkhira Islami Bank Medical Hospital, where doctor declared him dead.
