Gulshan Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three thieves in connection with theft in Jamuna Future Park, one of the largest shopping complexes in South Asia, and sale of stolen mobile phones in Bashundhara Shopping Complex in the afternoon.
The accused have been identified as Anik Hasan, 22, Nahid Hossain,19, and Nadeem Mohammad Sagor, 18.
During the drives, 45 stolen mobile phones of different brands worth Tk15 lakh were seized from their possessions.
Based on the information, a team of DB police conducted various drives in the capital’s Bashundhara and Vatara areas as well as in Comilla on Sunday and arrested them, said DMP’s Media and Public Relations wing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Faruque Hossain.
The theft incident occurred on July 5 at Sefa International Mobile Showroom of Jamuna Future Park shopping mall, added the deputy commissioner.
Later, detectives started an investigation into the matter and identified the accused with the help of CCTV footages.
A case was filed against there with the Vatara police station.
