Chittagong Metropolitan Police rounded up three members of auto-rickshaw lifting gang from Baizid thana area in city on Monday mid night.
They were detained by Baizid thana police while taking preparations for hijacking the CNG autorickshaw for Khandakia Bazar area under Khulsi thana at about 12 midnight alongwith the locally made lethal weapons. The detained lifters identified as Farkan(26), Kamrul and Iqbal Alam . Farhan , Kamrul and Iqbal hails from Hathazari, Comilla and Satkania in chttagong respectively.
Sub Inspector of Baizid thana told that sensing the news of their preprations in Khandakia Bazar, police conducted raid in the area and managed to apprehend them alongwith rope, lethal weapons and doping cream. The detained admitted that they are the members of the lifting gang and reside in the Mistripara area under Double Mooring thana of CMP, sources said.
