3-member sub-committee formed to scrutinize BFTI (Amendment) Bill

A three-member sub-committee has been formed to scrutinize the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BFTI-Amendment) Bill 2019 further.
Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Information on Thursday made the committee at its first meeting at the Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Hasanul Haq Inu in the chair, said an official press release here.
Committee members Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Gulam Mohammad Quader, Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Shaimum Sarwar Komol, Akbar Hossain Pathan (Faruq), Mohammad Ebadul Karim and Mamata Hena Lovely attended the meeting.
Gulam Mohammad Quader was made convener of the sub-committee while Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman and Akbar Hossain Pathan were made members of the body.
The parliamentary watchdog suggested the Information Ministry and affiliated offices under the ministry for finalizing programmes to celebrate the government declared ‘Mujib Year’ marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The committee requested the ministry to take positive steps for creating audience for community radio and reaching development news to the people at grassroots level through this media. It also recommended the ministry for taking initiatives soon on airing advertisements in the community radio.
Information Secretary Abdul Malek and other officials concerned were present at the meeting.
