National Cricket League: 3 matches end in draw, 1 abandoned

The Tier 1 match of Walton 19th National Cricket League (NCL) between Dhaka Division and holders Khulna Division ended in draw on the 4th and final day at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday.
Khulna Division resumed the 2nd innings with their overnight total of 7 for no loss in 7 overs and scored 180 for 4 in 90 overs when the bails were drawn for the final day.
Replying to Dhaka Division’s comfortable first innings total of 519 for 9 (declared) featuring two centuries by Nadif Chowdhury (166) and Mosharraf Hossain (125), Khulna Division were all out for 247 runs in 71 overs in the first innings to be the victim of follow-on on Day-3 (Sunday).
In the 2nd innings, former national cricketer two down batsman Tushar Imran contributed patient 63 runs off 189 balls featuring seven boundaries for Khulna Division while number five batsman Mohammad Mithun scored unconquered 37 runs off 70 balls hitting six fours.
Besides, national coloured opener Anamul Haque, who was in batting with three runs, scored 172-ball 35 runs, Rabiul Islam Robi made 18 and Nurul Hasan not out 10 runs.
Spinner Mosharraf Hossain grabbed two wickets for 16 runs while Shuvagata Hom also took wickets for 52 runs.
A Tier 2 match between Rajshahi Division and Dhaka Metro also ended in draw at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Monday.
Replying to Rajshahi Division’s first innings total of 220 runs, Dhaka Metro resumed their first innings with the overnight score of 106 for 3 in 51.4 overs and finally posted 326 for 9 declared, featuring 175 runs in the 4th wicket stand by Marshall Ayub and Mehrab Hossain Jr.
Two down Marshall Ayub, who was in batting with 54 runs, hammered a century making 131 runs with the help of 13 fours and two sixes while another overnight batsman Mehrab Hossain Jr (17) contributed polished 89 runs hitting 10 fours and one six and lower order Dollar Mahmud added run-a-ball 44 with three boundaries and two sixes.
Sunzamul Islam made the major damage to the Metro innings claiming five wickets for 124 runs while Saqlain Sajib took two for 107 runs.
In reply, Rajshahi Division opened the 2nd innings and scored 11 for 1 in 3 overs at the end of the 4th and final day.
The other Tier 1 match between Rangpur Division and Barisal Division also ended in draw after rain washed away the play for three days – first two days and the last day-at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
The play was held only on the 3rd day when Rangpur Division scored 61 for 1 in 16.2 overs.
The Tier 2 league match between Chittagong Division and Sylhet Division was abandoned at the Shaheed Cnadu Stadium in Bogra without a single ball being bowled due to rain.
