Staff Reporter :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons from different parts of Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj early Friday for their suspected link to the recent killing of Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio.The elite force also recovered firearms and sharp weapons from their possession, RAB official said. The arrested persons are Rajib Hossain Sumon, son of Hanif, Nawshad Hossain Rubel, son of Abdul Latif, and Kajal Chandra Barman, son of Bablu Chandra Barman, hailing from Rangpur district.RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan, said “Tipped off, a team of RAB-5 conducted a drive in Satnoil Uttarpara area in Sadar upazila around1:20 am and arrested Rajib along with one pistol and two rounds of bullets.”Later following the confessional statement of Rajib, the elite force conducted a raid in Bidirpur area and arrested Nawshad and Kajal along with one revolver and a sharp weapon, the elite force official said. The detained person admitted that they were involved with the murder, he claimed.Earlier, Hoshi Kunio, 65, was shot to death by unknown assailants near his farmhouse at Kachu Alutary in Kaunia upazila on October 3.
