At least three persons, including two drivers of trucks, were killed and two others injured when two trucks collided head-on at Kamarkhand in Sirajganj district on Wednesday noon.
The victims were identified as truck drivers Zahurul Islam, son of one Habib from Nimgachhi village, Mithun, son from one Arjon of Uttara Hajipur village, and truck helper Ananta from Hajipur village of the same Raiganj upazila.
On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Syed Shaheed Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station said that a Hotikumrul-bound brick-laden truck collided head-on with a cotton-laden truck coming from the opposite direction. Two persons of the brick-laden truck were killed on the spot and three were injured.
One of the injured died at Sirajganj Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital, the OC added.
