3 killed in road accidents

Three persons were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka and Naogaon districts on Saturday.
In Dhaka, a woman died after a car ran over her in Jatrabari area in the morning.
A three-year old girl, the deceased’s daughter, was injured during the accident.
The victim was identified as Asma Begum, 35, a resident of Dholaipar in the city.
Her daughter Nurunnahar was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College
Hospital (DMCH) with minor injuries. DMCH Police Camp In-Charge Bachchu Miah said that the car ran over Asma Begum when she along with her daughter in lap was crossing the busy intersection under Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, leaving her injured critically.
Locals rushed Asma to DMCH where on-duty doctors declared her dead. In Naogaon, two motorcyclists were killed and two others injured in a road accident at village Barunkandi on bypass road on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Masud Rana, 42, security guard of Jamuna Bank’s Naogaon branch and son of late Abdus Sattar Mondal of the village, and Sohel Rana, 30, son of Abdus Jabbar of village Shibpur under Sadar upazila.
Toriqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place when a bus crashed into a motorcycle coming from opposite direction around 9:45am and plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving both of the motorcyclists dead on the spot and two others injured.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Naogaon 100-bed Sadar Hospital morgue.
The injured bus driver and his assistant were taken to nearby hospital, the police official added.
