A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident at Gobindagunia village under Mirpur upazila of the district yesterday morning.
The victim was Eva Khatun, 8, a student of Gobindagunia Primary School and daughter of Enamul Mallik of the same area.
Sirajganj Correspondent reports: A septuagenarian man was killed as a bus hit him while crossing a road at Srishakol bus stand in Shahjadpur upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain,70, a resident of Nabbila village of the same upazila.
Hasan Shamim Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur Police Station, said a Pabna-bound bus dashed Abul Hossain while he was crossing the Bogra-Nagarbari Highway at about 7:30 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Pirojpur Correspondent adds : A bus helper was killed in a road accident in bus stand area of Bhandaria upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sagor, 20, son Piyar Ali, a resident of Birkathi village in Kathalia upazila and helper of a local bus.
The accident took place when a Sugandha Paribahan bus hit Sagor in the area around 7:00 am when he was giving the driver of his vehicle directions, leaving him dead on the spot, said Zakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Bhandaria police station.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
