A man was killed and five others were injured in a road accident near College intersection rail gate in Saghata upazila on Sunday.
Identity of the deceased could not be known yet.
Witnesses said a Santahar-bound train from Bonarpara railway station hit a local human hauler while it was passing through the rail crossing around 1.00pm, leaving a passenger of the human hauler dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were taken to the local hospital.
Saidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bonarpara GRP Station confirmed the incident.
UNB from Sirajganj adds: Two fish traders were killed and eight others were injured in a road accident on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara Highway in Tarash upazila early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Dipuk, 35, son of Taleb, and Zakir, 40, of Beparipara of the district town. Police and locals said the accident took place around 5.00am when a moving truck hit a Sirajganj town-bound pick up van carrying eight fish traders, including Dipuk, on the highway near Mohishlati Bazar, leaving Dipuk dead on the spot and nine people, including Zakir, injured.
