Two persons including a women were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Amtola near BSCIC industrial area on Dhaka -Sylhet Highway under Shibpur Upazila of the district at around 11-30 am on Tuesday).
Police said the accident occurred when a Shibpur bound Passenger bus from Narsingdi collided head on with a CNG runAuto-bike killing two including one women of the auto-bike on the spot and injuring three others.
Of the victims one Rahima Begum of Monohardi upazila were identified, another dead could not be identified by the police immediately.
The injured persons Alam (35), Shifiqul (30) and Shoidullah (28) were first admitted to Narsingdi Zilla Hospital then sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital(DMCH) in critical condition.
The bodies of the two victims were sent toNarsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police seized the bus but the driver managed to escape . A case was filed with Shibpur police station in this connection.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent adds: A lorry driver was killed in a road accident on the Chapainawabgani-Shibganj road in Baroghoria upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan, 40, son of Mozaffar Ali, a resident of Parkrishnapur village in same upazila. Sub-inspector of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station Shamim said a Shibganj-bound truck dashed the lorry from behind, leaving its driver Manan dead on the spot.
