3 killed in Fakirhat road mishap

Atleast three persons were killed when a passenger bus of Rupasi Paribahan bound for Khulna collided violently with a bridge on the Khulna-Mawa Highway near Biswa Road Mor (squire) under Fakirhat Upazila in the district on Saturday morning.
 The deceased have been identified as Monalisa Akhtar (17), a student of 2nd year Intermediate Class of Fakirhat Fazilatun-Nisa Girls’ College, Obaidul Haq Khalifa from Chitalmari Upazila in the district and Nasir Uddin, a betel-leaf shop-keeper hailing from the village Attaki under Fakirhat Upazila in the same district.

Dhaka to Khulna and about 10-30 am when it reached the place of occurrence, the driver lost his control over the steering and consequently, it dashed a van rickshaw and a motor cyclist from the behind and collided with a bridge.
As a result, college student Monalisa was killed on the spot and motor cyclist and betel-nut shop-keeper Nasir Uddin fatally injured. Motor cyclist succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital while Nasir Uddin expired in a hospital in Khulna.
