3 killed in city road accidents

Three persons were killed in the city’s Shahbagh, Banglamotor and Mirpur areas receptively on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Shohag Mia, 26, Amena Begum, 55, and Sattar Mollah, 50, police said.
Quoting the relatives, Shahbagh Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SIU) Jahangir Alam said that Shohag succumbed to death in the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) under treatment around 2:30pm. He was critically injured when a passenger bus knocked him down in the city’s Shahbagh area on Sunday afternoon.
He was rushed to the DMCH immediately after the accident. His home
district is Faridpur, the SI said. The body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy, the police official added.
The 2nd casuality took place at Banglamotor, quoting the witnesses, Ramna Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Moniruzzaman said auto-rickshaw passenger Amena died in the Banglamotor area when a speed-bus hit her travelling vehicle around 10:30am. She was from Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur district.
The SI said that the police arrested the bus driver and the body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, quoting the witnesses, Darus Salam Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Khokon Chandra Devnath said that pedestrian Sattar died in the city’s Darus Salam area of Mirpur when a speedy microbus hit her around 9:30am. She came from Tongibaru Munshiganj district.
The SI said that the body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
