3 killed in city incidents

A dumb woman was allegedly stabbed to death at Jaduchar of Hemayetpur under Savar upazila in Dhaka district early Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Shilpi Akhter Chhaya (25), daughter of Babul Mia. Police said that the deceased’s brother-in-law Sharif committed the crime.
Quoting the locals and family members of the victim, police said that a serious conflict had been continuing for few months between the families of Shilpi and Sharif centering land and other properties. Sharif married Shilpi’s younger sister while Shilpi married Sharif’s brother.
Police added that Sharif abruptly stabbed Shilpi Akhter at around 4:30am and went hiding to avoid arrest.
Savar Model Police Station’s Officer-in Charge (OC) Mohammad Mostafa Kamal said that the body was handed over to the relatives of the victim after postmortem. He added, a case was filed with the police station in connection with the murder on the day.
On the other hand, a construction worker was electrocuted to death at Bhuiyapara of city’s Rampura on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Samiul (20), son of Abdus Sattar, and hailed from Islampur of Jamalpur district, police said.
 The victim’s colleague Mizan and police informed that Samiul was electrocuted and seriously injured at around 11:00am. He was sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). But the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 3:00pm.
Meanwhile, another construction worker was killed after falling from the second floor of an under-construction mosque near the Shah Ali Mazar area in City’s Mirpur on Saturday Morning.
The victim has been identified as Abdul Jabbar (60), who hailed from Banna Upazila, Barguna district, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, police said that Jabbar was working at ‘Madina Mosque and fell down from the second floor unfortunately at about 10:00 am on Saturday and was injured seriously in the incident.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and died under treatment at around 1:30pm, police added.
On the other hand, an unidentified body was recovered from Chankharpool area, adjacent to Dhaka University (DU), under Bangshal Police Station in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Bangshal Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Kuddus Fakir said that the police recovered the body after getting the information by locals.
