3 Kapasia officials to get public admin medal

In recognition of significant and commendable contribution in providing public services, three officers of Kapasia Upazila in Gazipur have been nominated for the Public Administration Medal 2020 in the general (team) category at the national level. The information was confirmed in a letter dated July 16 signed by KM Ali Azam, senior secretary in the public administration ministry. It is learned that this glorious honor is being given for the “Maternal Mortality Free Kapasia Model” program invented by Upazila Family Planning Officer Mohammad Abdur Rahim.
The officers receiving the medal are Kapasia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mst. Ismat Ara has been serving in Kapasia for the last 3 years with a good reputation. She is an officer of 30th BCS. The other officers are Kapasia Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Abdus Salam Sarkar, a successful officer of 21st BCS and Kapasia Upazila Family Planning Officer Mohammad Abdur Rahim, a skilled officer of the 34th BCS.
The government is awarding the ‘Public Administration Medal-2020’ to recognize the creative and innovative activities of the officers and employees of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The medal is being given by the Ministry of Public Administration to the best individuals, parties and organizations at the national and district level in general and technical fields to encourage the employees working in public administration in creative activities. It was introduced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2015 to encourage high-ranking government officials to work.
