At least three students of Jagannath University (JnU) were detained with Yaba pills from Gandaria area of the capital on Monday night.
The arrestees were identified as Nixon of Accounting and Information System (AIS) Department of 10th batch, Asaduzzaman Rubel of 9th batch of Management Department and Shahriar Rahman Shanto of Mathematics Department.
Of them, Shahriar Rahman Shanto was suspended from the varsity following a clash over a love affairs dispute recently. Md Abdul Jalil, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gandaria Police Station told the news media that a squad of Patrol police detained the trio from
Gandaria area. Seven pieces of Yaba were recovered from Nixon. Nixon and Shanto both were involved with Yaba trading in the local area since long time.
Process was on to file case against the two, he added.
