A joint forces team in a drive from Sunday night to early Monday arrested 25 people, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, from different areas of the district on various charges.
Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of district police, said a team comprising members of police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted the drive in eight upazilas of the district and arrested the 25 people, including three activists of Jamaat.
Among the arrestees, 12 people were from Sadar upazila, four from Kolaroa, one from Tala, one from Kaliganj, two from Ashashuni, one from Debhata, one from Patkelghata and three from Shymnagar.
