A mobile court here on Monday night sentenced three persons to seven days imprisonment for arranging marriage of an underage girl in Lohagara upazila of the district.
Executive magistrate of the mobile court M Selim Reja gave the verdict.
The convicted persons are- Horsit Gosh, 55, Kalidas Gosh, 45 and Kalu Gopal Chakraborty, 60.
Being informed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and executive magistrate rushed to the house of Akhi to stop the marriage process and pronounced the verdict.
Later, they were sent to jail on Tuesday.
