A court here on Monday indicted three people in the killing of 12-year boy Rakib after torture by his former employer over quitting job.
Khulna Metropolitan Sessions Judge Dilruba Sultana framed charges against them and fixed October 11 for starting the trial. Those indicted are Md Sharif, Mintu Mia and Sharif’s mother Beauty Begum.
Police on September 25 pressed charges against the trio in the sensational murder case.
On August 3, Rakib, who used to work at a motorcycle garage at Tutpara Central Road in Khulna city, was tortured to death allegedly by his former employer over quitting job.
Alam Haldar, victim’s father, filed a case with Sadar Police Station against three people-Sharif, Mintu and Beauty Begum-after the killing.
Later, Mintu Khan, a so-called uncle of M Omar Sharif, the prime accused in the case, reportedly confessed to his crime before a local court on August 13 while Sharif made his confessional statement on August 12 and his mother Beauty Begum, also an accused in the case, confessed to her involvement in the incident on August 6.
