At least three people including a child were killed and three others injured as a tractor collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw on Fajumiarhat-Kamalnagar road near Mohammadia Madrassah in the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Harunar Rashid, son of Ali Azam, Amina Begum, wife of
Abul Kalam, of Anrad Char area of Noakhali and Rinku, 5.
Officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station, Akul Chandra Biswas said a tractor collided with an auto-rickshaw leaving Rashid and Rinku dead on the spot while Amina Begum died after she was rushed to a hospital. The three injured, two in severe conditions, were taken to Kamalnagar Sadar Hospital immediately.
