Three persons, including a child, were injured in crude bomb explosions, during a clash between two rival groups of people in the city’s East Jurain area on Wednesday morning.
The injured persons have been identified as Sumon Sarder, 42, Rifat Sarder, 12, and Emon Sarder, 18.
They had been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) immediately, police said.
Quoting the victims and doctors, Kadamtali Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam Mia said that a gang of 10-12 local drug dealers tried to abduct Sumon’s uncle Ataur Rahman from in front of their residence on Khalpara Commissioner Road around 8:30pm. The miscreants hurled 6-7 crude bombs when the relatives
and local people chased them.
He said that the clash sprang from property dispute.
Suman and Emon received splinters in their right feet and Rifat’s right cheek suffered injures.
The OC said that the law enforcing agencies were looking into the matter.
