Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with 2,460 pieces of Yaba tablets from Mohuripara in Ukhia upazila on Monday night. The arrestees were identified as Md Azizullah, 32, Md Yunus, 32, and Md Manjur Rahman, residents of block-B-91 of Balukhali refugee camp.
Being tipped off, a team of Rab conducted the drive around 8pm and arrested the trio along with the Yaba pills worth Tk 9.84 lakh, said an elite force press release.
UPDF man shot in Khagrachhari: Miscreants shot and injured an active member of Khagrachhari district unit of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) at Charmile area under Sadar Upazila here on Friday. The injured is Shantimoy Chakma alias Biplob, an active member of UPDF. Additional Police Super (ASP) Mohammad Salahuddin said some unknown criminals shot at Biplob at 11am, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rescued and admitted him to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital but doctors on duty referred him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
