Rapid Action Battalion in separate drives seized large amount of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) equipment worth around Tk 30 lakh from the capital’s Uttara and Khilgaon areas on Monday morning.
They also arrested three persons in this connection. The identity of the arrested persons could not be known immediately, RAB officials said.
In Uttra, a special team of RAB-4 arrested two persons and seized a large quantity of VoIP equipment from their possession in the morning, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director of RAB’s Legal and Media wing.
In a separate drive, RAB arrested another person with illegal VoIP equipment at Goran of Khilgaon in the morning, the RAB director said.
The arrested persons are being interrogated, he said.
Legal action would be taken against them, the elite force official said.
