Police seized 171 pieces of costly Indian smuggled in saris from a Dhaka bound bus at Baliakandi under Gazaria Upzila of the district and arrested three persons in this connection on Friday.
Police seized the saris from the Dhaka bound bus of ‘Tisha Paribahan’ from Comilla after conducting a search inside the vehicle on the basis of secret information.
The members of the law enforcement agency also arrested bus driver Sohel, 35, helper Liton, 23, and clothes businessman Jashim, 27, for their alleged involvement in the smuggling.
