3 held with arms, bullets in city

Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday claimed to have arrested three persons and recovered six firearms and ammunitions in Khilgaon of Dhaka.
The accused have been identified as Khan Md Foysal, 38, Md Ziaul Abedin alias Jewel, 45, and Md Zahed Al Abedin Alias Rubel, 40, police said.
Sources said, a gang of criminals was holding a meeting in Shipaibagh area of Khilgaon Thana for carrying out subversive activities. Knowing it the detectives raided the area around 8:00pm yesterday, said Shahidur Rahman Ripon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (DB-East) of DMP’ (East).
Police arrested the trio from the house,
but seven other members of the gang — SM Omor Faruk Lolat, 32, Anis, 45, Mithu, 35, Mamun, 35, Moyeen, 28, Tarif, 35, Anik, 32, — managed to flee the scene, the police official said.
Police recovered an AK-22 rifle, four foreign-made pistols, one native revolver and 47 bullets from the spot, he added.
We are trying to arrest the absconding criminals, the police official, said
A case was filed in this connection, he added.
