Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in separate drives detained three suspected drug peddlers along with 86,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from the capital and Gazipur district on Thursday.
The arrestees were identified as Obaidul, 38, Toiab, 25, and Sanjoy, 22.
Tipped off, an intelligence team of DNC of Dhaka division launched a drive in the
city’s Motijheel Shapla Chattar area around 7am and arrested Obaidul and Toiab along with 9,500 Yaba tablets, said M Mamun, deputy director (intelligence) of DNC.
According to the information given by the two arrestees, the intelligence team also conducted a drive in Mouchak area of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district at around 10:30am and arrested Sanjoy along with 76,000 Yaba tablets, Mamun added.
